Boy has this last year been one for the record book - one of trials and tribulations! Yeah, so, I spent my summer in bed unable to move because of a herniated disk. Which by the way I was beyond scared about having surgery to fix (um...scalpel knife thing next to my spinal column - who wouldn't be), but my vanity got to me when I was told I ran a real risk of walking around like Quasimodo. Long story short - I woke up from my surgery and was able to walk...normal - no cane or limp or nothing of the sort! It was magic...seriously MAGIC! I suffer from residual nerve damage (4 months later and still counting) but have been told its a good pain (really? good?) because that nerve is coming back to life. I really wish I could have written some things while doped up on my painkillers, but woes-me...the drugs simply made me sleep.
The other issue I've been dealing with - work. Not my writing, soon to be a New York Best Seller's list regular (it can happen), but teaching. I love it! I really do! But it is consuming my time! What was supposed to be a part time gig snowballed into a full time opportunity a struggling artist (fancy way of saying poor) can't really pass up, especially when that awesome job is grant funded (another fancy word of saying "might just disappear").
Blah blah blah, enough of the Negative Valorie. Now for some good news. Drumroll please....I have the sequel finished. But before you Erica Mathew fans get too excited - you'll have to wait until next summer to read it (so sorry - but I bought my rights back and all the editing and marketing is back on me). My BIG plan...I'm going to finish the third book - thus the series - and market the entire trilogy next summer like a MAD woman (yep, insanely crazy lady). It will be worth the wait...I PROMISE!!!
Well, there is SO much more I want to share - but I'll dish out the news a little at a time. I appreciate you all and am so grateful for your patience.
